PTL! I was diagnosed with colon cancer in July 2008. I am going thru chemo & radiation before surgery. Although this is a scary experience, I find that all I can do is Trust God for what I am going thru. I met with the surgeon today and was expecting (hoping) to hear great news about maybe not needing surgery because the tumor had disappeared. To my disappointment he indicated that the surgery "may" require the removal of enough of my rectum to where I would be required to use a bag for the rest of my life. But, God has the final word. Like Job said, tho he slay me yet will I trust him. I'm glad I can trust in a faithful God that inclines His ears to our pleas. No matter what we go thru, God is good! and worthy of all praise!
Praise the Lord. Just wanted to share this with everyone. I was diagnosed with breast cancer last month and unfortunately this is what it took for me to come back to God. In a weird way I am happy this has changed my life in a good way because I am now serving God with all my heart and I know that I can trust in him. I was diagnosed with DCIS (stage 0) and I prayed and fasted and I just have to say God is awesome.
Praise God for all your wonderful testimonies and words of encouragement to one another! As I read and re-read each testimony I couldn't help but Thank God that what we had envisioned along with others sisters back in 2000, was now being fulfilled thru this website.
As Apostolic women that are going or that have gone thru cancer we need to reach out to one another. It's always interesting to hear how some else has reacted to the news, "you have cancer". We are all so emotionally different that sometimes we wonder if we're weird or something's wrong with us if we don't over-react to the diagnosis. I was one of those who took it very calmly, but believe me I grew big time in my faith. Through all this we learn so much about God's faithfulness, ourselves and our priorities change drastically, don't they ladies? Each new day is a gift from God.
As a HOPE committee member I have witnessed first hand visiting cancer patients, sharing our experiences, seeing their joy as they receive the HOPE bag and leaving knowing you have made a difference in someone's life. It's almost a bittersweet experience-sad, because you wish no one would be diagnosed with cancer, but yet happy, because you can be there for them.
Let's continue to prayer for each other and as our theme verse says..."let me not be ashamed of my hope." Psalm 119:116
Praise the Lord Everyone!
Thank God for you Ladies that have submitted your greeting, testimony and prayer requests! It is wonderful to see that you have found this website. Your comments have made this all worth it! We are in this battle together and it is exciting to even begin to envision plans that the Lord has for this ministry. It is our belief that the Lord has only just begun. I know and believe that this is only the beginning of the many healings, miracles and building of relationshipe of women everywhere. Please continue to submit your comments. We need to hear all that the Lord is doing, how He is responding and most of all, we need to be of encouragement to one another.
To those of you that are blessed to read these requests for prayers and testimonies, we encouraged and ask that you respond to them. Cancer patients should avoid the routine use of antioxidant supplements during radiation and chemotherapy because the supplements may reduce the anticancer benefits of therapy, researchers concluded in a commentary published online May 27 in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
